Michael Afenfia

Michael Afenfia was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria but now resides in Saskatoon, Canada. Two of his novels, Don’t Die on Wednesday and Rain Can Never Know made the shortlist for the Association of Nigerian Authors Prize for literature in 2015 and 2022 respectively.

A born storyteller, Michael expresses himself through his novels, short stories, and performances.

Since arriving Canada, Michael has learnt to cook. It hasn’t happened yet, but he hopes to one day find the confidence to share his recipes with the world.

Chimeka Garricks

Chimeka Garricks is a Nigerian Irish lawyer, editor born in Dublin and raised in Port Harcourt. Chimeka considers himself more of a storyteller than a writer and would rather choose soundtracks for movies or be a DJ.

His acclaimed novel Tomorrow Died Yesterday was the winner of This Day Style book of the year 2010. He is also the author of A Broken People’s Playlist.

He lives in Lagos, Nigeria, with his wife, Biyai and their three children. 

Eriye Onagoruwa

Eriye Onagoruwa was born in Canada and raised in Nigeria.

She has an LL.B, a B.L and an LL.M  in Law and works as an energy executive with extensive experience in the Oil and Gas sector.

When she is not negotiating energy deals, she writes articles for The Guardian Nigeria and This Day newspapers. She is fascinated by the power of words and the effect their messages can have on individuals and the society.

Eriye loves fashion and travelling and finds inspirations in the many country she visits. She is passionate about women’s causes, especially financial literacy for women and teaches on investment and financial literacy.

She lives in Lagos with her husband and children.

Dear Alaere is her first novel.

Paul Ugbede

Paul Ugbede is an award-winning playwright and novelist.

He is the author of several published and performed plays including Drooping Palms, Raping the Land, Trading Places, Two Characters Undefined, August Meeting, Fela: Arrest the Music, Dialing Love and Our Son Minister. His articles and short stories have appeared on Waza Online, Muwado, and Jalada Online and his play Fire in the Night and Other Stories was included in the 2014 Writivism Anthology edited by Sumayya Lee. Paul Ugbede is the winner of the inaugural Beeta Playwright Competition.

 He lives in Lagos with his family.

Olunosen Louisa Ibhaze

Olunosen Louisa Ibhaze is an award-winning author who writes for both adults and children. She has written three children’s books, a short story collection, a book of poetry and two novels. Authentic Mama was published by Paperworth Books in 2016.

Ibhaze was a Consultant Literary Series Advisor for Penguin Books. She is the founder and host of The Ottawa Black Bookclub, The Melanin Djali Project Conversations, and the Simple Esan Girl Initiative. She is a Champion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Olunosen has two master’s degrees in Globalization and Development, and Medical Sociology, and a bachelor’s in Sociology and Anthropology.

She loves history, music, and photography and is inspired by everyday life and human experiences.

Alabo T. O. Graham-Douglas OFR JP

Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas (OFR) was a distinguished Statesman, Politician, Businessman, Philosopher, Philanthropist and astute Administrator.

He was a major force in the politics of Nigeria, serving at various times as a government minister of the Federal Republic. He established the Southern Minorities Movement, which eventually metamorphosed into the National Summit Political Association, an association that later merged with other political groups to form the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He is the author of three books, Journey to the Centre (2019), Democratic Rascality (2020) and A Peep Into Heaven (2022).

Greg Ogbeifun

Greg Ogbeifun is the Chairman/CEO of Starzs Investments Company Limited. He is the pioneer president of the Ship Owners Association of Nigeria (SOAN). He has been a contributor to the national development of the maritime sector, serving in various governmental committees.

Mr Ogbeifun is a seasoned conference speaker and the author of two books, Not Always Easy and Potentials Of Nigeria’s Maritime Economy.

He is a Christian and is blessed with eight children and six grandchildren. He lives in Benin and Port Harcourt with his wife, Victoria Ogbeifun.

Damilola Adgebite

Damilola is an award-winning actress, entrepreneur and fitness-wellness enthusiast. She is on a continuous mission to motivate self-growth and improvement.

She has trained to become a certified fitness instructor from YMCAfit in the United Kingdom, after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bowen University, Nigeria.

She played Thelema Duke in the long running soap opera Tinsel, and Kemi Williams in the movie Flower Girl. She won Best Actress in a TV Series at the 2011 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

She lives in Lagos with her son.

Morayo Afolabi-Brown

Morayo Afolabi-Brown was born in Nigeria and educated in the United States of America. She is a communications executive and TV personality whose media career spans seventeen years. She has worked in many notable media organizations, including CMC Connect, Cue Media, HiTV, and TVC Communications. She is also the current Chief Media Consultant of Kabiti Media House Limited.

Morayo Afolabi-Brown has hosted YourView, a Nigerian current affairs daily show for nine years and presided over two thousand three hundred episodes.

In 2020, Afolabi-Brown was named as one of the 25 most powerful women in journalism in Nigeria.

Becoming the Queen of Talk TV is her first book.
